Smothered Cheddar Cheeseburgers
Ingredients
:
For the Burgers:
1 lb Ground Beef (80/20 for best flavor)
1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
1/2 tsp Onion Powder
Salt and Black Pepper (to taste)
3 slices Cheddar Cheese
1 tbsp Olive Oil
For the Gravy:
1 tbsp Butter
1/4 cup Onion (finely chopped)
2 cups Beef Broth
1 tbsp Flour
Salt and Black Pepper (to taste)
1 tbsp Fresh Parsley (chopped, for garnish)
Instructions
:
Prepare the Burgers:
In a bowl, combine the ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Form the mixture into 3 even patties.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness.
Make the Gravy:
In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened.
Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute to make a roux. Slowly pour in the beef broth while stirring to avoid lumps. Simmer for 4-5 minutes, or until the gravy thickens. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Assemble the Dish:
Once the burgers are cooked, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Allow it to melt over the heat for about 1-2 minutes.
Spoon the gravy generously over the burgers.
Garnish and Serve:
Sprinkle fresh chopped parsley on top for a fresh touch and serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or your favorite side!
