Description

Mississippi Sin Dip

Ingredients

1 loaf of French bread or sourdough bread (unsliced)
8 oz (1 package) cream cheese (softened)
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (divided)
1 cup sour cream
1 cup diced ham (or cooked bacon pieces)
1/4 cup chopped green onions (plus more for garnish)
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions

Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Hollow Out the Bread:
Cut off the top of the bread loaf and hollow out the center, leaving a sturdy shell. Reserve the removed bread pieces for dipping later.

Make the Dip:
In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, 1 cup of shredded cheddar, diced ham, green onions, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and well blended.

Fill the Bread Bowl:
Spoon the dip mixture into the hollowed-out bread loaf. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar on top.

Bake:
Wrap the filled bread loaf in aluminum foil and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the dip is hot and bubbly. For the last 5 minutes, uncover the top to allow the cheese to brown slightly.

Serve:
Garnish with additional green onions and serve warm with the reserved bread pieces, crackers, or veggies for dipping.
