Festive Holiday Sugar Cookies
Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
Red and green sprinkles
Powdered sugar, for dusting
Directions
Preheat & Prep:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Cream the Butter & Sugar:
In a mixing bowl, beat softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix until combined.
Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
Add Sprinkles:
Fold in festive red and green sprinkles to the dough.
Shape the Cookies:
Scoop dough into tablespoon-sized balls and place them on the baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches of space between each.
Bake:
Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Decorate:
Once cooled, dust cookies with powdered sugar for a snowy holiday look!
