Chicken Cordon Bleu Recipe
Ingredients:
4 chicken breasts, pounded thin
4 slices ham
4 slices Swiss cheese
1 cup breadcrumbs
1/2 cup flour
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons olive oil
Creamy Dijon Sauce:
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons flour
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Prepare the Chicken:
Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness.
Season with salt and pepper.
Assemble:
Place a slice of ham and Swiss cheese on each chicken breast.
Roll tightly and secure with toothpicks.
Coat:
Dredge each roll in flour, dip in beaten eggs, and coat with breadcrumbs.
Cook:
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
Brown the chicken on all sides, then transfer to a baking dish.
Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through.
Make the Sauce:
In a saucepan, melt butter and whisk in flour.
Gradually add milk, stirring until thickened.
Mix in Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Serve:
Drizzle the creamy Dijon sauce over the chicken.
Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.
