Ingredients:

For the Filling:

1 cup diced ham

1 cup shredded Swiss or cheddar cheese

1/4 tsp garlic powder

1/4 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

For the Pastry:

1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

For Garnish:

Fresh parsley, chopped

Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Directions:

Prepare the Filling:

In a bowl, mix diced ham, shredded cheese, garlic powder, Dijon mustard (if using), salt, and pepper. Set aside.

Assemble the Pastry:

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Cut into squares or rectangles, depending on your desired size.
Spoon the filling onto one half of each square, then fold the pastry over and seal the edges by pressing with a fork.

Add the Topping:

Place the filled pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Brush the tops with beaten egg and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.

Bake:

Bake for 20–25 minutes or until the pastries are puffed and golden brown.

Garnish and Serve:

Let the pastries cool for a few minutes before garnishing with fresh parsley. Serve warm.
