Caramelized Onion Cheeseburger

A juicy beef patty topped with sweet caramelized onions and melted cheese, all nestled in a soft, toasted bun. Perfect for burger lovers!

Ingredients
:
For the burger:

1 lb ground beef (80/20 ratio for juiciness)

1 tablespoon olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

4 slices cheddar cheese

4 burger buns

1 tablespoon butter
(for toasting buns)
For the caramelized onions:

2 large onions, thinly sliced

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon butter

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
(optional)
Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
:
Caramelize the Onions:

Heat the olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-low heat.
Add the sliced onions, sprinkle with a pinch of salt, and cook slowly, stirring occasionally, for 20-30 minutes, until they become soft and golden brown.
Once caramelized, add the brown sugar and balsamic vinegar (if using), and cook for another 2-3 minutes until well combined. Set aside.

Cook the Burger Patties:

Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and form into patties. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat and cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium doneness, or longer if you prefer your burgers more well-done.
In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and let it melt.

Toast the Buns:

While the burgers are cooking, melt butter in a separate skillet over medium heat.
Slice the burger buns in half and toast them in the skillet until golden brown and crispy.

Assemble the Burger:

Place the cooked patty with melted cheese on the bottom half of the toasted bun.
Top with a generous amount of caramelized onions.
Add the top bun, press down gently, and serve hot with fries on the side.
This burger is packed with flavors from the juicy beef patty, melted cheese, and sweet caramelized onions. Perfect for a weekend indulgence or a special dinner! Enjoy!
