Broccoli Cheese Balls
Ingredients
2 cups broccoli florets, finely chopped
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
½ cup breadcrumbs (plus extra for coating)
1 large egg, beaten
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 clove garlic, minced
½ tsp paprika
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
Vegetable oil, for frying
Directions
Steam the Broccoli:
Cook broccoli florets in boiling water for 3-4 minutes. Drain and finely chop.
Mix Ingredients:
In a large bowl, combine the chopped broccoli, cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, egg, Parmesan cheese, garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
Form the Balls:
Scoop small portions of the mixture and shape into balls. Roll each ball in breadcrumbs for an even coating.
Heat the Oil:
In a deep skillet, heat about 2 inches of oil to 350°F (175°C).
Fry Until Golden:
Fry the balls in small batches for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
Serve and Enjoy:
Pair with your favorite dipping sauce, like ranch or spicy aioli!
