Ingredients
:
For the Pasta:

12 oz penne pasta

1 tbsp salt (for boiling water)
For the Marinara Sauce:

2 cups marinara sauce

1 tbsp olive oil
2 garlic cloves, minced

1 tsp Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

For the Cheese Mixture:

1 ½ cups ricotta cheese

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 egg

1 tsp dried basil

1 tsp garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
:
Cook the Pasta:

Boil the penne in salted water according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Prepare the Marinara Sauce:

In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
Stir in marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes to combine the flavors.
Prepare the Cheese Mixture:

In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 1 cup of mozzarella, Parmesan cheese, egg, basil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.
Assemble the Baked Penne:

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large baking dish, mix the cooked pasta with marinara sauce. Then fold in the cheese mixture and stir to combine.
Top with the remaining mozzarella cheese.
Bake the Pasta:

Bake the penne for 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the top is golden brown.
Serve:

Garnish with fresh basil leaves and grated Parmesan cheese. Serve hot and enjoy!
