Description

Ham and Cheese Puff Pastries

Ingredients
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
4 oz (120g) cooked ham, thinly sliced
4 oz (120g) cheese (Swiss, cheddar, or Gruyère), thinly sliced
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2: Prepare the Puff Pastry
Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
Cut the pastry into 6 equal rectangles or squares.
Step 3: Assemble the Pastries
Place a slice of ham and cheese on one half of each pastry piece.
Fold the other half over to enclose the filling, forming a rectangle or triangle.
Press the edges with a fork to seal the pastry.
Step 4: Egg Wash and Bake
Place the pastries on the prepared baking sheet.
Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
Step 5: Garnish and Serve
Sprinkle freshly chopped parsley over the baked pastries for a pop of color.
Serve warm and enjoy the melty, flaky goodness!
Chef’s Tip: For an extra touch of flavor, add a small dollop of Dijon mustard or honey inside before folding the pastry. Perfect for breakfast, snacks, or appetizers!
