Ingredients
For the Pasta:
1 lb elbow macaroni
Salt for boiling water
For the Beef Sauce:
1 lb ground beef
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1 tsp salt
½ tsp pepper
For the Topping:
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
Fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
Cook the Pasta: Boil the elbow macaroni in salted water according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Prepare the Beef Sauce: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Remove excess fat, then add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook for 2-3 minutes until softened. Stir in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5-7 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Assemble the Pasta Bake: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a large bowl, combine the cooked pasta and beef sauce. Stir in half of the shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheeses.
Bake: Transfer the pasta mixture into a greased baking dish. Top with the remaining mozzarella and cheddar cheeses. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Serve: Remove from the oven and sprinkle with chopped parsley for a fresh touch. Serve hot and enjoy!
